‘Body without Organ’ Workshop

The BwO is the virtual field of the body, the domain of the basic particles and forces (“singularities,” “affects,” “intensities,” “ideas,” “perceptions,” etc.) from which an actual organism composed. To become a BwO is to destratify the body, to reconnect it with the intensive, impersonal, trans-human matter that composes and surrounds it, to open it up to new connections and assemblages, to explore the innumerable things it can do beyond the restricted set of habitual actions that characterise the organised body. Thus the aim of Nanjing BwO workshop is to explore the potential of BwO, as a way reconnecting body with its complex environment with specific affects and programs, from with a ‘new body’ is generated from its defined programs and movements.

德勒兹指出,只要我们把身体当作一个既定的功能性形式,我们就不可能知道身体会作什么、能够作什么。要变成一个BwO,就要化解身体的分层,将身体与构成和围绕它的那些密集的、非人的、超越人的物质重新联结起来,释放身体让它能够接受新的联结和装配,去发现那些身体能够作的无以计数的事情,超越被有机体化的身体,因为被有机体化的身体能够作的是受习惯限制的一套有限的动作。

BWO跨界设计3D打印工作营,以无器官身体为主题,观察身体的日常行为和由事件激发的身体与外界环境互动的联系,在“身体的衍生”和“身体的受持”两方面去探讨身体的功能和活动。探索在数字环境下身体扩张、连接和重新生成的可能性,设计出了一系列作品:类防毒面罩,头盔,飞行翅膀,脊柱矫正护具,极限运动背包等。最后通过3D打印技术,运用SLA激光快速成型机、光敏树脂材料,将作品模型呈现。
